The under 15s took out the Country Championship Southern Zone Trophy competition, booking a clash with Northern Zone winners Central Coast.
The side won two of their three clashes in Dubbo, opening up the competition with a 32-0 win over Wagga-based Group Nine. A 22-12 loss to NRL Victoria in the Cup semi-final relegated the team to the Trophy competition, where they triumphed over far south coast rivals Group 16.
The under 14s had a mixed weekend, winning one of three matches. Illawarra opened the event with a loss to Central West’s Group 10, relegating the side to the Plate competition. The team bounced back later in the day to edge Canberra 14-12.
The under 14s then fell to Griffith’s Group 20 18-14 in the plate semi-final.
