The Illawarra’s most talented junior athletes will converge on the Novotel on Thursday night for the annual Illawarra Academy of Sport Presentation and Awards Dinner.

The evening will celebrate a year of hard work and determination, milestones and setbacks, glory and tears from all of the Academy’s members.
The highlight of the night will see the awarding of the 2018 Illawarra Mercury Tobin Family Award. The award is named after the Tobin family in recognition of their contribution to sport in the Illawarra for more than 65 years.
The trophy is awarded to the Academy athlete who displays an exceptional level of sports performance, a commendable attitude to competition and dedication to learning and boosting the community.
The recipient will also receive a $5000 scholarship to help boost their sporting development.
Past winners include Blake Govers and Emma McKeon.
