At an industry breakfast at The Grange Golf Club on Friday i3net chair Emilio Salucci announced the seventh annual Illawarra Industry Showcase will be held at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach on November 8 and 9.
The i3net is a network of industry based companies working from the Illawarra.
For over a decade the network has promoted the collective capability of industry to local, national and international markets.
The annual showcase is one of the initiatives i3net provides to members in an effort to actively seeks out new market opportunities.
In some cases they might be for individual members. But for large projects and organisations the showcase is a chance to show how i3net members work collaboratively to deliver world class innovative industrial solutions.
“For visitors, the Showcase is a great opportunity to visit the Illawarra and discover the industry capability in the region,” Mr Salucci said.
“For members, the event provides the opportunity to network with the showcase delegates and key decision-makers”.
The two day event has already secured an impressive list of delegates from companies such as Navantia Australia, BAE Systems Australia, Coal Assets Australia - Glencore, Prysmian Group, ANSTO and the Australian Synchrotron, Boral, Snowy Hydro, Australian Industrial Energy (AIE) and Remondis.
The program includes an industry tour for delegates to visit a number of i3net members.
There is a showcase dinner on the Thursday evening being emceed by SBS presenter and Tour de France commentator Mike Tomalaris. It features an industry expo and a presentation from Australian Industrial Energy (AIE).
On Friday morning there is a showcase breakfast with lightning talks from i3net members so visiting delegates can learn more about industry capability in the Illawarra.
The event is supported by Wollongong City Council, Office of Regional Development /NSW Government. Department of Premier and Cabinet, Advantage Wollongong, AusIndustry/Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, Brian Hastings Finance & Management and University of Wollongong.
Friday’s breakfast featured a presentation from Komatsu as it expands its supply base to keep up with growing demands in the mining industry.
i3net executive officer Bianca Perry said registrations are now open for the seventh annual Illawarra Industry Showcase at the Novotel on November 8 and 9.
