The 17-year-old boy, who made a run for it from Juvenile Justice after appearing in Nowra Children’s Court on August 23, was arrested by police at a Bomaderry address.

The youth made his flight for freedom around 12.30pm, escaping through an open door on the western side of the complex, where prisoner transports are parked.

He jumped a nearby fence and was last seen running through the playground of the adjacent Nowra Public School.

Despite extensive police searches and investigations the boy remained on the run until late last week.

Police said he was arrested in Bomaderry without incident.

It is understood the boy was facing three charges of common assault, damaging property and larceny.

He may well face additional charges, possibly escaping from custody when he next appears in court on October 25.

Juvenile Justice NSW launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
