Travis Smyth has continued his run of impressive results with a 21st place finish at the US $1.3 million Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup.

Smyth carded rounds of 69, 73, 70 and 70 to finish at two under par and tied for 21st. He was the best placed of the Australians alongside Queensland’s Anthony Quayle in the co-sanctioned Asian and Japanese Tour event.
Although pleased with the performance, Smyth said there were still a few areas of his game he can improve before he heads into Web.com Q school next month.
“My game feels really good at the moment,” Smyth said.
“I missed too many fairways, and on average the misses weren’t by much.
“But when you’re in the rough up here, you really need to get lucky just to be able to advance it to the green.
“There were lots of birdies, but also lots of bogeys.”
Out to retain his Asian Tour card next year, Smyth moves to the US$850,000 Taiwan Masters, then on to the US qualifying school, starting on October 9.
