There isn’t currently a price guide for the property.
However, according to Australian Property Monitors, the house at 31 Pheasant Point Drive sold for $2,850,000 in 2012.
The East family property was originally a cottage-style home, and the late Mr East re-styled the house to its present form.
Mr East’s son Hamish said his mother Bobbie had continued to reside in the home after his father died several years ago.
Hamish said his mother was selling the property in order to downsize.
“It’s an amazing spot,” he said. “It’s certainly in the best six blocks of land in Kiama.
“It’s got uninterrupted views out to sea, right across the harbour. And it’s in such close proximity to everything in town.
“It was an old two-bedroom cottage, and as an architect Dad basically built around it.
“He’s added all around it… He’s put a fair bit on to it.”
Hamish said they had undertaken renovation works on the property during the past year in order to prepare it for sale.
The multi-level home enjoys a north-easterly aspect and is bathed in natural light courtesy of its wall-to-wall windows and a five-metre high glass ceiling that sits directly atop the dining room and kitchen area.
Other features include six bedrooms, three bathrooms, spacious living areas, in-ground pool and an office/study that looks directly onto the Pacific Ocean.
The selling agents are Robert Perea and Sarah Herbert from Raine and Horne Kiama.
Mr Perea said there wasn’t a price guide due to its unique location, views and other qualities.
“It’s a top-end property to Kiama and a unique location to Kiama,” he said.
“There’s not many that come up for sale in that neck of the woods in recent years.
“An exclusive property like this doesn’t come on the market very often.”
