Police have arrested a man wanted for questioning over the death of Bellambi mother Kristie Powell.

About 4pm on Monday, detectives from the Port Stephens-Hunter police district arrested Bhanu Kirkman in Maitland.
Police had issued an appeal for the whereabouts of the Wollongong man on Saturday.
It is believed police, acting on a tip-off, located him under a railway bridge.
He was arrested on outstanding warrants and taken to Maitland police station where he remains in custody.
Wollongong detectives investigating Ms Powell’s death were on their way to interview him.
The body of 39-year-old Ms Powell was found at a home on Lorking Street, Bellambi, on Friday, October 5.
Her five-month-old son was found uninjured inside the home.
Officers from Wollongong Police District immediately launched an investigation, supported by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
