The Australians will face New Zealand in three matches in late November and early December in Hawkes Bay.
Smith is currently representing Australia at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
After claiming a 10-0 victory over Zimbabwe in their opening match, Australia fell to Namibia 4-3 in a tight affair early Tuesday morning, with a Poland clash up next.
Smith was able to find the back of the net twice, scoring a goal in each match.
While the Youth Olympics are being contested in a five-on-five format on a modified field, Smith will return to the traditional 11-player version of the sport for the Trans-Tasman series.
The 18-year-old gained selection in the team after an impressive performance for NSW at July’s Australian Under 21 championships, which was won by NSW.
