The driver’s car reportedly became stuck between the kerb and planter boxes on a section of Cliff Road that has been closed to vehicles for almost a year.
Since December, drivers have been unable to access the busy Cliff Road/Bourke Street intersection from the one-way strip of Cliff Road outside the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach.
The changes were made to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists while work was carried out on the Blue Mile Tramway. The upgraded tramway opened in June.
A Wollongong City Council spokesman said a review of “traffic management and pedestrian crossing options” at the intersection was under way.
The spokesman said residents and businesses had been consulted.
The council was reviewing the feedback and would be “reporting on solutions shortly”, he said.
