Taking the reigning champions on first up will be a big test, but it’s one the Hawks, and in particular Andersen, are relishing.
“It’ll be a good test for us going up against the champs,” Andersen said.
“You go up against the best to get better and I believe that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to take them straight off the bat, it’s at home and hopefully we can put on a good show for our fans.
“We’re not going to take a backward step and I certainly won’t be. I’m going to give my all and have a good go. It’ll be hard playing against Chris [Goulding] and Casper [Ware], some of my really good friends, Josh [Boone] and Dave Barlow all those guys I’ve played with and won a championship with.
“We’ve scouted them and we know what they’re about. They’ve got a lot of talent so it’s going to be no easy task but that’s how we like it.”
