The 2017-18 wooden spooners opened the new season with an impressive victory over Shellharbour last weekend, with Brynley Richards leading the way with both bat and ball.
For Kookas, Saturday’s clash marks the team’s first taste of competitive cricket this summer after last week’s opening round washout.
Kookas round one opponents, Kiama/Gerringong are set to take on The Rail as both teams vie for their first win of the season. The Rail suffered a heavy defeat to Lake Illawarra in round one, Kerrod White running amok as they were bowled out for 35.
Lake Illawarra will take on Shellharbour in their second-round fixture, with the Lakers hoping to continue their winning start.
Shellharbour played well in last week’s defeat to Oak Flats, but will need to improve if they are to win on Saturday.
