The 2016-18 LIP cohort of future leaders celebrated the completion of two years of experiential learning at a black-tie dinner attended by many Illawarra business and civic leaders.
Developed by the University of Wollongong Sydney Business School, RDA Illawarra and The Illawarra Connection the program aims to produce inspired and well-connected visionaries.
Over the last 24 months Justin Bailey, Nia Briguglio, Jacinta Cali, Nathan Cattell, Matthew Demos, Shiva Gopalan, George Harb, Matthew Imber, Matt Lee, Arjah-Learh McGrath, Neil Menzies, Susannah Powter, Melissa Thompson, Jenny Towers and Sharon Wingate attended workshops, seminars and site visits.
They also had fireside chats with regional leaders and got to pick the brains of politicians in Sydney and Canberra.
participants hailed from a diverse range of industries, big business, small business, commercial, government and not-for-profit organisations.
2016-18 LIP graduate Sharon Wingate said she had experienced many benefits from being involved in the program.
“I have been offered more opportunities at work, offered a position on a board, started mentoring other young professionals, and achieved a few personal goals outside of work too.”
