Apprentice Automotive Refinisher Bailey Talbot recently won the PPG NSW Colour Matcher of the Year competition.
The TAFE NSW Wollongong apprentice flew to Queensland on Thursday morning to represent his state.
Mr Talbot works in smash repair industry repainting vehicles to look new again after they have been repaired.
In the NSW and Australian colour matching competitions he and the other competitors are given a paint colour sample.
They then have to mix other colours to match that same sample.
PPG is an auto paint company.
Mr Talbot has only just completed a scholarship with PPG and did specialised training in Sydney as part of his apprenticeship.
The colour matching competition is now in its 20th year.
