The unsympathetic tax measures
Having been abolished about 40 odd years ago, the ACTU is now agitating Bill Shorten to urgently add to Labor’s cascade of wistful policies - for post implementation of a looming general election.

An ‘Inheritance Tax’, which is a ‘soft’ way of saying ‘Death Tax’!
I am unequivocally opposed to the reintroduction of such an austere and unsympathetic taxation measure.

The writing’s on the wall
We have a sitting member in Gilmore who is about to be given a position based in New York for the next three months.
This sitting member will be leaving her electorate in total chaos as the unemployment is rated the 2nd highest in Australia.
And then we have the hospital system here in a hell of a mess as any one waiting for surgery.
They wait up to 18 months and then the government has attacked the dental scheme which will see any treatment for say a broken denture, the wait is well over a year.
The general public do not know how bad our health system is in until they go to access any of the areas.
Ann Sudmalis has one thing she can claim to achieved in her time as the member for Gilmore and that is she has seen the writing on the wall.

Au pairs issue still stands
Response to the letter by John Martin, "MILESTONE MOMENT" Mercury, Saturday October 6, 2018.
My claim that the Senate enquiry over Peter Dutton and au pairs issue still stands Mr Martin.
Please consider the following points;
(1) Immigration Ministers in previous governments either Labor or Liberal have made personal interventions into cases subject to their portfolio.
(2) Mr Dutton ruled out any personal connection or relationship with the employers of either au pair, when asked by the Greens Adam Bandt.
(3) The parliament was made aware that one of the employers was Russell Keag who had been in the Queensland Police at the same time as Mr Dutton.
Which lead Adam Bandt to claim Dutton mislead the Parliament.
(4) To which Dutton replied "I finished work with the Queensland Police Service in July 1999.
At that time from my recollection, there were 5500 police officers within the Queensland Police Service.
No reasonable person could come to the conclusion that my professional association through working in the same large public service some 20 years ago constitute either a personal connection or relationship."
Indeed both Labor and Greens MP's have lobbied Mr Dutton to intervene in visa decisions.
So, why weren't these MP's subject to the same Senate enquiry?
