The Boomers forward is just two games into his NBL career in the West Australian capital after making a controversial switch across the country at the end of last season.
He was a standout in both the Wildcats wins over Adelaide 36ers and the Illawarra Hawks on Sunday afternoon.
Kay tallied an impressive 18 points from 8/11 shooting while also claiming eight rebounds and four assists in their win 99-91 win over Adelaide on Thursday.
Two days later he was at his best again, with 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Wildcats’ 40-point win over Illawarra.
The performance against his former side didn’t go unnoticed by Gleeson.
“Nick Kay does a tremendous hard work underneath the rim and that’s why we recruited him out there,” he said.
“He is always there. I have saying that if all the action is in the kitchen, be in the kitchen and not out of the porch.
“He seems to be in the action all the time.”
The Wildcats perfect start to the season has helped them assume top spot in the competition after round one.
