Dragon’s coach Paul McGregor’s daughter Demi McGregor is organising a fundraiser at Humber this Saturday afternoon to raise funds for McGrath breast cancer nurses.

Inspired by people she knows who have battled breast cancer the marketing manager and uni student wanted to do something to help.
“It is such a great cause. One of my friend’s mum passed away from breast cancer,” she said.
“I thought it would be a good opportunity to use the position I am in as marketing manager at Humber to do something good.”
She approached the McGrath Foundation and they were delighted she wanted to organise a fundraiser during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“When I contacted them and they were really helpful,” she said.
“They helped me get it all together.”
Cocktails for a Cause starts at 2pm on the rooftop at Humber on Saturday and continues until 7pm.
Not only is it designed to raise money for breast cancer nurses but increase breast health understanding.
Ms McGregor said a number of businesses and organisations have rallied behind the event including the St George Illawarra Dragons.
Other support has come from Charlie & Kate, The Collectors Nest, The Sassy Poodle, Ballet Body, Philanthropy Tribe, The Fox & the Hair, Soul Brow Bar & Make Up Studio, Tan by the Coast, Hair by Leshay and Property Styling Corp.
McGrath Foundation ambassador and director Tracy Bevan said the McGrath Foundation continued to be blown away by such community support.
“It directly helps the Foundation in its mission to ensure every family in Australia experiencing breast cancer has access to a breast care nurse no matter where they live..and always free. We are proud to have funded 117 McGrath Breast Care Nurses working nationally who, together, have supported more than 50,000 families going through breast cancer.
“Events like this are truly helping us to make a difference, we couldn’t do it without you”.
Humber owner Adam Murphy said entry is free and it was a privilege to be able to host the event for the McGrath Foundation.

- Jane McGrath’s experience with her breast care nurse set the mission for the foundation which supports thousands of women and men and their families every day, no matter where they live for free.
