Lifeline’s Big Book Fair is in its 13th year, and continues to raise vital funds for Lifeline’s 24-hour crisis support service in the Illawarra and South Coast.
Books will be available in more than 50 categories including fiction, non-fiction, reference, hobbies, travel, children’s books, art, science, literature, history, biographies, old and rare.
“Our volunteers do an amazing job collecting, sorting, pricing and packing books for our Book Fair events all year round,” Book Fair co-ordinator Alicia Ferderer said.
“And the effort to prepare all the books at the Sports Stadium in the lead-up to the event is enormous.
“We simply couldn’t do it without our wonderful volunteers. The Book Fair event continues to grow from year to year – the support of our customers is just wonderful.”
Lifeline’s Big Book Fair will take place on Friday and Saturday between 9am and 5pm, and Sunday between 9am and 4pm at the Illawarra Sports Stadium, Berkeley.
Entry to the event is via gold coin donation and EFTPOS will be available.
Lifeline’s Big Book Fair is the major fundraising event for Lifeline South Coast.
Funds raised go towards Lifeline services including their 24-hour crisis support service in the Illawarra and South Coast (131 114).
Last year, Lifeline South Coast answered 23,500 calls from people in the Illawarra and South Coast.
