Almost 5400 people supported the event at the Illawarra Sports Stadium at Berkeley which showcased around 80,000 books in more than 50 categories.
Lifeline South Coast CEO Rachel Norris thanked the community for their ongoing support of the event.
“We continue to be overwhelmed by the amazing support the community shows our book fair,” she said.
“From donating books all year round, to coming along and buying up big at the event – the Illawarra community is so generous.
“But the biggest thank you must go to our volunteers. We had more than 90 volunteers help out. Their continued dedication and support allows the event to be a continuing success.”
Ms Norris said the most popular categories included children’s books, history and whodunnits.
Money raised at the event will go toward supporting local services including Lifeline’s 24-hour crisis support service on 13 11 14. Last year, Lifeline South Coast answered 23,500 calls.
