JUST REVENUE RAISING?
Well they want to remove speed camera warning signs. These highly visible signs warning drivers of their presence slows drivers down as does a highly visible police presence.

I thought it was to stop accidents and not a revenue collecting exercise , or am I being cynical?

‘RUBBISH POSTERS’
On the walls of a bus shelter in front of our place, and other places, I found large posters glued to the shelter wall. They are promoting the Communist Party and the words “The Right to Strike “mentioned multiple times.
I am by nature not a suspicious person, but there is a bad smell about these posters, and with all the upheaval in Canberra lately and elections and rumours floating around, I believe that these posters were pasted on the wall to link the Labor Party to the posters, with “Strike” and also the words “100% CMFEU, join now” in bright red letters, by a party other then the Communist Party.
Desperate people do desperate things. I have contacted the Wollongong Council to remove this utter rubbish posters.

LOOKING FOR LEADERSHIP
Over the last couple of months during the period of the LNP internal skirmishes, a huge change has transformed the LNP during a transformative drought. They have allowed themselves to go from intermittent climate deniers to full blown climate deniers.
It became obvious in Scomo's reaction to the IPCC report and the lacklustre progress of the appointed person appointed to develop an Energy policy.
Across the ditch ( the Tasman Sea) in NZ we have the gutsy NZ PM Jacinda Ardern at the UN General Assembly and the Pacific Islands Forum going into bat for the already impacted Pacific Islands, those islands that cannot opt out of the Paris agreement. NZ is fast becoming the preferred leader in the Pacific

BITE THE BULLET
It was with great sadness I read last Friday's opinion pages in the Illawarra Mercury concerning steelworkers and academics protesting about remuneration and job security, and wondered how we got into this predicament.
It is Howard's 'Work Choices' wearing a different coloured coat called 'casualisation'. It would never would have happened under Hawke or Keating, so why is it so rampant under Bill Shorten? This is what happens when unions no longer depend on members subscriptions to fund their operations, but legally skim huge admin fees from Industry Super Funds which they control.
Shorten, a proven liar and opportunist, retains his leadership role simply because Labor must, at all costs, project an image of stability and unity after the last 10 years of political mayhem. I say, bite the bullet and bring on Tanya or Albo!
