In their 2019 program just released, WIN Illawarra boasts the screening of 13 new Australian shows, “countless” new imported shows and “three of the biggest sporting events in Australia, including the Melbourne Cup”.

Signing some of the nation’s funniest people is also a theme with Peter Helliar, Rove McManus, Julia Morris, Troy Kinne, Dave Hughes and Harley Breen to be at the forefront of various shows. 

While reviving tried and tested formulas is also on the cards with Dancing With The Stars, renovators’ delight Changing Rooms (hosted by Natalie Bassingthwaighte) and Murphy Brown starring Candice Bergman set to make a comeback to the small screen.

Old favourite I’m A Celebrity will return but at the less prime-time slot of Saturday evening, which leaves room for Chris and Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway – a new variety show with Chris Brown and Julia Morris. It’s set to target families with “entertainment, surprises, celebrities and prices” – a similar format to that of the successful long running Hey Hey It’s Saturday.

Four shows tested during the network’s Pilot Week this year will resurface as full series’.

Troy Kinne – formerly of 7mate – will have his blokey skit-comedy shown via Kinne Tonight, Trial By Kyle will see a Judge Judy-style courtroom but with shock-jock Kyle Sandilands as the Judge, and Rove back on the box with Bring Back Saturday Night with Rove McManus and Show Me The Movie!

Taboo is another Pilot Week success, where Harley Breen spends five days and nights with members of a disadvantaged group in society and uses the experience to perform a stand-up routine about them – with the subjects sitting in the front row.

Street Smart, Russell Coight's All Aussie Adventures, Shark Tank and Cram have not been renewed for 2019.

WIN’s affiliate Network Ten will go into the new year with new logos, streaming and podcasting services, and their digital channels rebranded. One will now be known as Boss and target older audiences, and Eleven will change to Peach in an attempt to catch younger viewers.
