For the second year running UOW has ranked in the top 200 in these disciplines in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject.
UOW was ranked in the 176-200 band in the 2019 rankings for subjects including art, performing arts, languages, literature, linguistics, history, philosophy and archaeology.
Faculty of Law, Humanities and Arts executive dean Professor Theo Farrell said that being ranked into the top 200 in the world for the second year in a row was a great result for the faculty.
“This result reflects the faculty’s commitment to world-class teaching, to innovation, and to research that has a positive impact both locally and internationally,” Professor Farrell said
The World University Rankings’ table for subjects uses the same performance indicators as the overall The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, grouped into five areas: teaching; research; citations; international outlook; and industry income.
UOW was named among the world’s top 250 universities, and among the top 10 universities in Australia, in the overall 2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings announced earlier this year.
