The former NBL MVP played just nine minutes in the Hawks’ 86-79 loss to Sydney Kings at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday night.
Jackson received attention from club medical staff on the night, but was unable to retake his spot on court.
“When you have a guy of his caliber, you can’t just have him playing hurt,” Beveridge said.
“That’s why we got those young pups out there and gave them an opportunity. I was pretty proud of how hard they worked.
“I thought Marshall Nelson had a really good game. [Daniel] Grida is lacking a bit of confidence at the moment so we are trying to get him going because he is very talented and we gave an opportunity to Emmett [Naar].
“I know we lost the game but there is a whole lot of positive things there.”
Jackson finished with two points and three assists.
