Basketball Illawarra held their junior representative trials throughout the past fortnight, with large numbers of boys and girls turning out in the hope of becoming a junior Hawk.
The quality of talent on display was exceptional, with coaches forced to make some tough decisions in narrowing down their squads. The under 16 boys alone saw 71 players trial.
Coaches Tom Farrar and Richard Granger have whittled the initial 71 down to a squad of 30, with further trials to take place in the coming weekends.
The younger age groups will also undertake additional trials, with the under 12 boys taking place at the Snakepit on Saturday and the under 14 boys and girls on Sunday.
The teams will play in a number of competitions throughout the summer and 2019 including the Country Championships.
