The Breakers face Western Australia on Friday and Victoria on Sunday in Blacktown in the third and fourth rounds of the Women’s National Cricket League. 

With five of the team’s Australian stars currently in the West Indies for the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup, the opportunity opened for young talent to feature for the Breakers.

Nineteen-year-old Wilson is joined in the squad by 18-year-old Saskia Horley, who is also a chance of making her debut, Mikayla Hinkley, 20, and Hannah Trethewy, 19.

Rene Farrell will captain the side in Alyssa Healey’s absence and she’s looking forward to seeing Wilson and Horley show off their skills should they make their debut.

“You never forget the moment when you receive your first cap, so if either of those girls have the opportunity to do so, especially on home soil in front of their friends and family, I think it’ll be very exciting” Farrell said.

“Hopefully the girls get a go, not sure what the team looks like at the moment, it’s still very hard and everyone is competing for a spot.”

Wilson played her junior cricket for Albion Park before moving up to Sydney, where she first played for Campbelltown-Camden before moving to St George-Sutherland ahead of last season.

She has recently spent time playing for the Auckland Hearts in the New Zealand Twenty20 Super Smash as a wicketkeeper and batter.
