A 35-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a South Coast girl after grooming her online has been refused bail.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad began an investigation after reports a 14-year-old girl was sexually and indecently assaulted by a man known to her.
Following inquiries, a 35-year-old man was arrested at a home in Sydney’s west on Friday.
He was taken to Penrith Police Station, where he was charged with indecent assault of a person under 16 years of age and have sexual intercourse with person over 14 and under 16 years.
The man groomed the girl through a messaging app, before sexually and indecently assaulting her at a home on the South Coast between August 31 and September 9, the court heard.
He was refused bail and appeared before Penrith Local Court on Friday, November 9, where he was again refused bail.
He will appear before Bega Local Court on Tuesday, November 27.
