Last weekend’s excellent weather saw local ramps at near overflow capacity with trailer boats dotting the seascape up and down the coastline.

The inshore bottom dongers found the current patchy in some places that required constant moving but no reports of barracouta.
Most of the flatty drifts copped a fair work over but crews that used fresh baits and jigged plastics definitely fared better than the freezer prawns crews.
Further offshore there were quite a few yellowfin tuna caught both locally out the front and further down the coast with the fish ranging between 15 and 60 kilograms.
Most were taken on the troll with a local boat recording a bag limit and getting their first yellowfin for the year with a very fit tuna that went near enough to 50 kilos.
There were also a couple of striped marlin caught up off Sydney over the weekend and with the warmer water presently pouring down the coast, we are looking at a bumper game fishing season coming up.
