But it seems the upgrade of the adventure playground has impressed students the most.
And it is easy to see why students are getting a kick out of playing in the specially-designed playground, which delivers in functionality and design.
The official blessing and opening of St Joseph’s new school building and adventure playground took place on November 1.
Bishop of Wollongong, Brian Mascord and CEDoW director Peter Turner were on hand to celebrate.
The “fantastic” new area not only looks modern and comfortable, it is really functional in terms of being set up for contemporary learning.
It includes two stages of development.
Work included building a new administration block as well interview, meeting and staff rooms. The new area also features offices and a reception area as well as kindergarten and four stage 3 classrooms. Stage one work also included an outdoor Cola and new student toilets.
The latest work involved refurbishing and extending four stage 2 classrooms, a corridor and new student toilets. But it was the creation of the adventure playground and the associated landscaping which excited most.
