The under 12s also defeated St George, with the under 17s beating Sutherland. The under 13s were defeated by St George, while the under 15 girls fell to Parramatta.
The under 15 boys victory was spurred by an incredible bowling performance, with Luke Jones taking five wickets without conceding a run to help bowl St George out for 65. The spell came after Rhys Cattle (77*) led Greater Illawarra to 9-184.
The under 16s were led by Sam Hobson, who’s 91* helped Greater Illawarra reach 173 in the first innings. Jack McDonald then helped ensure his side claimed a narrow six-run victory claiming 3-36 as Sutherland were bowled out for 167.
Blake Cattle (58) top-scored for the under 12s in their 93-run victory over St George, with Joshua Garnero taking 5-22.
