In the lead-up to Christmas, White Lady Funerals at Bulli is collecting donations of handbags filled with feminine hygiene products and other essentials to help women of all ages experiencing poverty, homelessness and domestic violence.
Taking place until December 2, the drive is part of the nationwide ‘It’s in The Bag’ campaign, run annually by women’s charity Share the Dignity.
Illawarra residents are encouraged to bring a handbag containing sanitary products, unused deodorant, toothpaste, shower gel, socks, a brush or other necessities to White Lady Funerals at 257 Princes Highway, Bulli.
Donations will be received from 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Share the Dignity volunteers will collect the products and distribute them to domestic abuse shelters and drop-in centres from December onward ahead of Christmas Day.
