URGENT UPGRADE NEEDED
As very regular users of Picton Road over the last ten years, the increase in traffic has been very dramatic irrespective of the time of day.

Five years ago this road should have been upgraded to two lanes in both directions with barriers from the turnoff at Mount Ousley to the expressway at Wilton.
As this road is the major link between the coast and the western suburbs of Sydney the increase in traffic should have been easily projected by government departments.
Instead a band aid approach has been used.
A couple of passing lanes and some barriers have been provided.
The upgrade to the two parking areas have not increased the safety of the road.
For the Illawarra region centred on Wollongong the Liberal State government is not going to provide funds for transport infrastructure improvements in an area that they know they can not win.
Election of a State Labor Government will not see any better result for this region and Picton Road in particular.
This area is considered "very, very, safe" Labor and why give funds to a region which you know you will always win.
To gain major upgrades to Picton Road we will have to rely on our politicians of both parties having a sense of responsibility and a moral conscience to stop the needless but avoidable deaths on this road.
Urgent action is required by both parties to safe lives.

A CREATIVE MIND
What a great creative mind Stan Lee had.
Not content with creating super heroes that were perfect beyond belief, he made super hero characters like Spiderman and the Hulk that had everyday complications.
This made the super hero interesting and gave them more depth.
As a real fan of the super hero characters of the early to mid 1970's I pay my respects to Stan Lee.
May he rest in peace.

BANKING ON IT
I was distressed to hear the news that NAB CEO Andrew Thorburn is only going to take home about $4.3 Million this year .
How will he be able to face the missus when he gets home.
I would launch a GoFundMe page if I knew how to or maybe pass the hat around at pensioners bingo events I say event because everything these days is an event including having your home broken into but I digress.
The government may be able to provide a grant so that the Thorburns can learn how to live within their temporary meagre means however young Andrew can rest assured that he doesn’t have to do much to have his normal salary plus bonus restored next year when the Royal Commission into banking is only a distant memory.
