They have serious concerns for their loved one, and will not rest until Mark Hendy, 57, of Culburra Beach is found safe and well.
“We’ve hit the point of exhaustion and stress,” Mark’s best friend Jon Sword said.
“We want to know Mark’s safe, his family in the UK are very distressed, they are feeling helpless, and we understand. We hope he’s okay.”
Mark was last seen heading into the bush behind the Culburra Beach Medical Centre, Wednesday at 7pm.
He left his wallet at home, and his phone has been off - none of the messages sent have been delivered.
Potential sightings have been reported to police and the search party, led by Jon.
“A few leads have put us on a rollercoaster,” Jon said.
“On Sunday, there was a possible sighting at Kmart, Nowra. His wife, Carmen, and I were nearby at the time so we immediately went over.
“We started to think, ‘He’s gone further afield.’
“Then there was a potential sighting Monday afternoon quite close to where he was first seen, in the bush just near the Culburra Kitchens store.”
By Tuesday 4pm Mark was still missing.
