Sadly, Joshua passed away in the arms of his mother the following day at 7.30pm.
Family were close by, still in shock they had to say goodbye so soon.
The brave four-year-old had been battling a rare form of soft-tissue cancer over the past year.
He had received 43 cycles of chemotherapy and 24 cycles of radiation at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane.
In August his mother Hannah was hit with news the tumour in her son’s liver had proved too persistent to cure and they returned home to Eden to spend the final stages of his life.
“We thought everything was fine at the start but when he got his scans back, within three weeks the tumour had grown back more aggressive,” Joshua’s nan Julie Wells said at the time.
Joshie's plight stole the hearts of many in Eden and surrounds as they rallied to make his dying wishes come true.
The community’s response to his death has been enormous.
Heartfelt posts of love and condolences have spread on social media.
“Oh my heart is absolutely shattered for you all,” one supporter wrote on the Joshua’s Fight Against Cancer Facebook page.
“Hannah you are an absolutely amazing mummy to little Joshua. You gave him your all and you should be so proud.
“I will remember you forever.”
Funeral arrangements are being made, it is understood the community will be invited to attend.
