The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is at 1 Wilson Avenue, Gerringong.
Neville and Chris Chapple have owned the recognisable ‘Siere’ for the past eight-and-a-half years.
Mr Chapple said when the home was being built more than 15 years ago, it was given the nickname of “Gerringong’s ‘Opera House’ because of the two peaks in the roof being a little like the Opera House”.
The Chapples split their time work-wise between Gerringong and Wagga Wagga.
Mr Chapple said they were selling ‘Siere’ as they had bought a now-finished apartment in Gerringong.
He said given their busy schedule of splitting time between the two areas, they were downsizing in Gerringong to reduce home maintenance time.
“It’s a great home though – private, close to Werri Beach, great views, open plan with plenty of natural light,” he said.
Selling agent, Angie Ritchie of Zest Real Estate said the lower level of the property is where its uniqueness becomes apparent.
“A fully self-contained living arrangement featuring a large lounge and dining area, a bedroom and a separate kitchenette has previously offered a tidy return by way of a bed and breakfast accommodation, but would also be perfect as teenagers’ retreat, guest accommodation or a workspace,” she said.
Other features include a manicured garden and sparkling pool.
Ms Ritchie said it wasn’t typically more difficult to sell a high-end property in the lead-up to Christmas than it was at other times of the year.
However, she said it was a “matter of the right people seeing it and falling in love”.
”It’s luxury, opulent throughout – just a beautiful home,” she said.
