Racing at the Anna Meares Velodrome in Brisbane, the same track used for this year’s Commonwealth Games, the juniors lined up alongside some of Australia’s hottest young cyclists.
Sarah Cliff was among the pick of the riders, taking out the junior women 17 years Keirin final. Cliff had a busy weekend of racing, and finished the overall points competition in fifth place.
Curtis Trkulja and Ryan Britten both had successful weekends in the male events, with Trkulja finishing fourth in the 15 boys tempo final. Britten finished fifth in the 17 years scratch race final and was ranked ninth in the overall points standings.
The Illawarra Cycle Club women finished the overall points standings in 12th position, while the men finished in 23rd.
The next round will be held in Adelaide in January.
