After bowling Kookas out for 174, the Lakers will resume at 1-16. Having fallen to Ellis Dale late last Saturday, Lake Illawarra captain Mark Ulcigrai knows Dale will test his batsmen early in the day’s play.
“We did pretty well with the ball, restricting them to 174,” Ulcigrai said. “But they’ve got a good bowling attack, so it won’t be easy. We should get them, but we can’t lose wickets in clumps.
“Ellis is a big threat. He bowls extremely tight lines and is always in the game. If our guys are patient, he won’t be able to bowl all day.
“If we’re patient, it will be good for us, we have a lot of overs in the day to score the runs.”
Elsewhere, having secured first-innings points, Kiama/Gerringong will seek an outright victory over Oak Flats and Shellharbour will resume at 2-140, after bowling The Rail out for 168.
