He’ll be looking to build on his 3-1 record built in 12 months under the tutelage of NGC Boxing gym coaches Mitch Brisbane and Brian Banco.
“We got him 12 months ago and he was real raw young kid but he’s worked really hard for us,” Brisbane said.
“He’s a really grown in confidence with each fight. He’s had four fights three wins and one loss.
“His last fight was a loss in Melbourne to an opponent that had 12 more fights so it was a step up.
“That’s what we’re after and now he’s got a shot at a title which is great.”
Glancy will duke it out for the strap against undefeated (3-0) Blacktown PCYC fighter Alex Archer Lual in what’s tipped to be one of the bouts of the evening.
“[Lual’s] from PCYC Blacktown and they’ve got a really good track record with trainers and fighters,” Brisbane said.
“Everyone that comes out of that gym is quality so it’s going to be a really close tough fight.
“These guys are pretty evenly matched and the promotors all agree it’s a 50-50 fight, whoever turns up on the night will win.
“They’re the type of fights you want. He’s a really talented kid and we think he’s going to go far. It’s a good solid start for him.”
A host of other Illawarra fighters will be in action with doors opening at 5pm.
