Visual arts teachers from across the Illawarra are being celebrated in the latest exhibition showing at Project Contemporary Artspace in Wollongong.

‘Fluid’ the Art Exhibition also highlights the variety of stages within the 12 teachers’ career.
Exhibition organiser and visual arts teacher at Edmund Rice College, Sarah Cole said the vision was to develop an exhibition that motivates and promotes local art educators to practice their own artmaking.
She said teachers primary focus was to provide creative arts learning opportunities for students.
“A major part of my professional development for this year has been organising, facilitating, exhibiting and curating ‘Fluid’ the Art Exhibition,” Ms Cole said.
“My vision is for this event to grow annually and become an event that is important in the Illawarra art community and inspires teachers to explore their personal art journey.”
The work showcases a variety of medias and collections of works that range from oil painting to sculpture, assemblage and photo media.
The exhibiting artists are Saxon Reynolds, Kate Stehr, Sarah Cole, Leen Rampe, Andrea Rees, Lesley Sykes, Jenny Frappell, Mary Costello, Liz Thomas, Trish Atkinson, Simon Tognetti and Lesley Kind.
The exhibition runs until December 16.
Project Contemporary Artspace at 255 Keira St, Wollongong is open Wednesdays to Fridays (11am to 5pm) and Saturdays and Sundays (10am to 4pm).
