Allrounder Michael Neser (76 not out) and captain Jimmy Peirson (75 not out) guided the Bulls home to cap a remarkable fightback from the visitors.

The pair shared an unbeaten 143-run stand as the Bulls reached the hefty target with four wickets in hand and 11 overs to spare.

Peirson brought up the win with a single off his hip, as Queensland finished on 6-414.

Peirson and Neser rode their luck at times as the Tigers shelled three catches during Monday's final session.

Peirson was dropped shortly after tea by Jordan Silk at slip off Jackson Bird and received a second life when George Bailey grassed a difficult leaping chance at short cover.

Former Test batsmen Joe Burns and Marnus Labuschagne set up the measured chase with half centuries at the top of the order.

Queensland resumed day four at 2-164 and only lost four wickets for the day.

Riley Meredith (3-70) sparked the Tigers with wickets either side of lunch to have the Bulls on the ropes at 5-233, but their quicks couldn't find enough in a deck that flattened out after 18 wickets fell on day one.

Queensland were routed for 107 in the first innings in reply to Tasmania's 167.

The Tigers then posted 353, headlined by a century to Bailey, to set up a chase over four-and-a-bit sessions.

Bulls opener Matthew Renshaw fell early for an aggressive 27 from 24 balls before Burns (74) and Labuschagne (78) steadied with a 124-run stand late on day three.

The previous record fourth-innings chase at Bellerive Oval came in 1997-98, when Tasmania reached 3-401 needing 399 against Victoria.

Queensland's second win of the season keeps them in the hunt for a top-two spot. They six third behind Victoria and NSW.
