Police have charged a man who is believed responsible for a woman’s gunshot injury at her Primbee home last year.

Meantime, two alleged accomplices remain at large.
Nineteen months since the shooting, Lake Illawarra detectives yesterday charged a 22-year-old man at Junee Correctional Centre, where the man is serving time for unrelated crimes.
Police will allege he and two other men drove to a home on Illowra Crescent in a blue Subaru Forester at 1.26pm on May 29 last year. They found a 38-year-old woman at home with her 17-year-old daughter.
Police will allege one of the men deliberately shot the woman in her leg before all three fled.
The Mercury understands those involved in the 2017 crime were strangers to the woman, and that they searched the home for something, but departed with nothing.
The Mercury further understands one line of inquiry pursued by police in the aftermath was whether the gunman had visited the wrong house.
The woman emerged from the home screaming and bleeding. The bullet passed through her left thigh, just above the knee.
Police formed a strike force to investigate the events of the afternoon and were expected to draw on CCTV footage captured in the area.
The mother-of-four’s injuries were not considered life threatening, however it is understood she required surgery.
The man has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is due to face Wollongong Local Court on February 15.
Police are calling with anyone who could assist with their investigation to come forward.
