The eight-acre property is located at 50 Saddleback Mountain Road, Kiama.
The property, which features a five-bedroom home, was sold to a Sydney-based buyer.
Even prior to sale, its attributes suggested it would rank among the region’s top-selling properties of 2018.
The home was built and designed by the previous owners, who purchased the land in 2000.
Selling agent, Angie Ritchie, director of Illawarra and Shoalhaven-based agency Zest Real Estate said it offered a semi-rural feel, yet was close to the township.
“The home itself is also extra large,” she said.
“It also offers beautiful views; great rural views and ocean views. Plus it has its own rainforest and waterfall.”
Another feature of the property is an 18-metre by 15-metre machinery shed with a six-metre height, which Ms Ritchie said could also be ideal for hobbies or as storage for a motor home, caravan or boat.
Ms Ritchie said it “was a privilege to sell this stunning home”.
The Kiama municipality featured among the highest-selling properties in the Illawarra (covering the Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama local government areas) for 2017.
Number six on The Domain Group’s ‘Top Selling Illawarra Properties’ list was 6/2 Barney Street, Kiama, which sold for $3,050,000.
