Two drivers vying for the same car parking space had a stand off for more than 15 minutes near North Wollongong Beach on Tuesday.

The road rage incident occurred on George Hanley Drive next to Stuart Park at about 4.15pm.
The Mercury understands a light grey car went to reverse parallel park into the car spot but then the driver of a dark grey car tried to park front first.
Both drivers refused to move their cars but got out to implore the other to move.
The Mercury understands the driver of the light grey car was on the phone to police.
The feud caused traffic chaos with some motorists being forced to mount the median strip to get around.
Eventually the driver in the dark grey car moved out of the way which allowed the driver of the light car to park.
The incident follows other reports George Hanley Drive was gridlocked for parts of the day.
Many struggled to find a car spot and had to lug their picnic gear a long way so they could enjoy the day at Stuart Park and the beach.
Parking around North Wollongong Beach is notoriously difficult especially on hot summer days and public holidays.
