A vessel was seized after allegedly being used over two days by men, known to one another, multi-tripping to take more than daily limit of 10 calamari per person from the southern end of the bay during the peak spawning season between October to December
One of the men is accused of making three trips in one day to collect 22 calamari - 12 above the daily limit - hidden in the vessel, Victorian Fisheries said in a statement on Wednesday.
Another man's boat was seized after taking more than twice the daily limit during the fisheries operation.
The men are expected to charged with exceeding the catch limit, hindering fisheries officers, giving false and misleading information and matters relating to marine safety.
The accused face maximum penalties of up to $27,000 and 12 months imprisonment.
