Visiting band leader from the US Mike Smith will deliver an entertaining address at on “organology” at the Wollongong Art Gallery from 5:30pm.
A spokesman said the public lecture would delve into the history of different instruments and their use in different cultures, while Smith would incorporate live performance to demonstrate his point.
Musical workshops for musicians of any age and skill plus live performances will run from Wednesday to Saturday also.
The Honk Universe Grand Street Parade will include dozens of musicians – such as Les Femme Fatales, Honks of Ork, Dogma and the Junkadelic Brass Band – marching through Wollongong’s Crown Street Mall at 4:30pm on Saturday.
