The Happy Phoenix Studio at 55 West St has been operating since 2011 and owner LiangYun Pan said there had been no complaints or concerns from authorities.
Ms Pan has applied to Wollongong City Council to extend trading from the present 10am-12.30am limit to 24 hours, seven days a week. She said noise impacts would not be a problem.
“The extension of hours will not cause any loss of amenity to any of the neighbouring properties in relation to noise,” she said.
“Our location would have to be taken into consideration being immediately adjacent to the main railway line when assessing any possible ‘noise’ issues.”
She said the brothel had been subject to random inspections by police.
“The premises are drug and alcohol free and staff are thoroughly vetted for adherence to relevant visa guidelines, also safe sex activities,” she said.
