The club announced the former Canberra FC attacker had penned for the next two National Premier League campaigns.
James has been training with the Wolves since taking part in the club’s trial against Central Coast Mariners in October.
He will have big shoes to fill after the departures of striker Peter Simonoski (Sydney United 58), attacker Josh MacDonald (Central Coast Mariners) as well as imports Yuzo Tashiro and Takuya Nozawa.
Simonoski scored 12 of the club’s league-worst total of 23 goals last season.
Thomas boasts an impressive record in the NPL Capital Football competition, netting 80 goals in just 83 games. He won both the Player Of The Year and Golden Boot last season with Canberra FC.
“TJ is an exciting prospect with a solid goal scoring record,” Wolves coach Luke Wilkshire said.
“I have been impressed by him since he trialed with us prior to the Mariner’s game. He is quick, has a good first touch, can beat a defender, works hard and can obviously find the back of the net.
“The NSW NPL will be a step up for him, but I am confident we have found a real player who will excite the crowd and most importantly, provide a real threat on goal.”
James said he is already beginning to ‘find his feet’ at the club.
“We have a young squad and I am sure we are in for an exciting season,” he said.
