Wollongong City Council is refurbishing the old Otford tennis clubhouse.
A council spokeswoman said the licensee had painted the interior of the building and the council would paint the building’s exterior in coming months.
“The refurbishment to the clubhouse has included an upgrade to the electrical distribution board, general repairs and maintenance to the building’s walls, a replacement of doors and a lighting upgrade,” she said.
The works started before Christmas and are ongoing.
The spokeswoman said the building was not well used but would become a hub for the community once renovations were complete.
The refurbishment is an example of the council goal to provide residents with quality and sustainable places to meet.
It is part of the new Places for People – Wollongong Social Infrastructure Planning Framework: 2018-2028.
