Ms Nikolaou recently became one of Australia’s first female Indigenous commercial pilots and will be telling her inspirational story at The Illawarra Connection’s first black-tie networking dinner of the year.
She is the guest speaker at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach on February 5.
As a child she lived with her family in Greece for several years, following her father’s career as a pilot.
The family returned to Australia in 2004 and lived in Brisbane.
Ms Nikolaou’s childhood dream was always to follow in her father’s footsteps and “fly big jets”.
And she didn’t let health issues, multiple surgeries get in the way.
She achieved her dream and in 2017 she was accredited a commercial pilot.
At TIC she will talk about how she is inspiring other young Indigenous women and men, and her plans for the future.
