It has revealed that the most expensive residential property sale of 2018 in the Illawarra region (covering the Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama local government areas) was the unit at 1/60-62 Cliff Road, Wollongong, which sold for $4 million.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom property was sold in March.
Further details of the sale have not been disclosed.
According to Australian Property Monitors, it previously sold for $730,000 in 2001.
Second place went to 27 Tingira Crescent, Kiama, which sold for $3,350,000.
The top-end, Hamptons-inspired property was listed on the market in May, and sold in July.
One of the selling agents, Steve Pryor, principal at Raine & Horne Kiama said it was located on one of Kiama’s most sought-after northerly oceanfront headland positions.
At the time, Mr Pryor said it had sold to a Sydney buyer, who planned to use it “as a weekender and a holiday let”.
Also in the top five was Unit 33, 72 Cliff Road, which sold for $3.3 million.
Unit 11, 54-58 Cliff Road fetched $2.5 million, and Unit 16, 11-15 Wilson Street, Wollongong sold for $2,280,000.
Meanwhile, notable rural sales throughout the region in 2018 included an acreage property at Kiama selling for $4 million.
The eight-acre property is located at 50 Saddleback Mountain Road, Kiama.
The property, which features a five-bedroom home, was sold to a Sydney-based buyer.
Grand rural Jamberoo residence ‘Warreen’ also sold for $2.5 million to an undisclosed buyer.
Located at 417 Wallaby Hill Road, the private 120-acre property offers 180-degree expansive views over Jamberoo Valley, Lake Illawarra and the Illawarra coastline.
