One of the oldest regional shows in the region, the 171st Kiama Show’s program is jam-packed with activities from horse-jumping and cattle judging to pavilion exhibitions and family entertainment.
Wood chop, a perennial favourite is on Saturday from 10am to late afternoon with various competitions.
In the ring from 9.30am to late afternoon on Friday is the horse judging, horse ring events, show jumping, six-bar jump plus from 9.30am to noon is the Illawarra cattle show, Holstein, Jersey and beef cattle judging.
On Saturday the horse events are being held from 9am to late afternoon.
In the Pavilion, opening 10.30am both days, are 2000 plus pavilion exhibits such as the best vegetables, fruit, flowers, arts, crafts, photography, home brew, tatting and lace making, etc.

As usual Gareth Ward has sponsored the opening night reception on January 24 and will judge the “vegetable person”.
Besides the usual favourites, lots of new activities too.
La Petite Grande Circus sponsored by The Bugle and Kiama Municipal Council is not to be missed with Friday shows at 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm plus Saturday shows every hour from 12.30-8.30pm.
This circus show includes Corey Pickett, a unicyclist, juggler and comedian as well as Louise Clark who is a trapeze artist, rope and silks acrobat.
Cafe De Rude, to tickle your funny bones, is on Friday from 2pm-10pm and Saturday from 5pm-10pm - catch Kiki and Pascal at 5pm with a comedy magic show.
There's also a community stage with music and live acts plus sideshow alley with lots of games and rides for young and old.
It’s after 4pm that the action really hots up with camel racing, billy cart derby races, mini trot races, a showgirl parade, gumboot throwing competition, dunking machine (always good fun to watch) and more.
The Westrac Rodeo will be a highlight and this will be held from 8pm on the Friday.
On Saturday, rev heads can get excited. The Freestyle Kings FMX three-man stunt team will wow the crowds with their unbelievable, high flying stunts. Best of all, there are two shows!
The camel racing heats and finals, mini trot races, billy cart derby race heats and finals and dunking machine will happen too.
There’s also a wood auction and raffle at 8pm and a fireworks finale at 9.30pm.
