Robert Charles Frescon's body was discovered in his Kelvin Grove home by his sister on Friday after he failed to show up for work.
Over the weekend a post-mortem examination found the 33-year-old died from a wound to his neck as forensic specialists scoured his home for evidence.
Gold Coast man Thomas Appleby, 21, who police say was known to Mr Frescon, was charged with the murder on Sunday.
He briefly faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday and made no application for bail.
But his lawyer indicated outside court he intended to fight the charge.
Overnight police also charged 29-year-old Nicholas James Torralba from St Lucia, and 23-year-old Damian Marco Markovski, from Broadbeach, with Mr Frescon's murder.
Torralba and Markovski also appeared briefly in the same court on Monday.
All three men had their matters adjourned for mention again on February 4.
